School Improvement
A key strategic aim of the trust is to ensure that all schools deliver a sustainably good education for our 7000+ students.
The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) led by Guy Shears EP/CEO, drives school improvement across the Trust and is responsible for strategy development, implementation and monitoring of impact, in close liaison and consultation with the senior team leaders (STL – Principals and function leads).
CRST People Development Institute (CPDI)
CPDI is our professional development work within CRST.
The following trust-wide school improvement structures are key to the school improvement model, and form a core element of our professional development, along with CPD programmes:
- Co-design strategy teams (trust-wide strategy development and implementation teams) which includes:
- Disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils’ work
- Reading strategy
- Safeguarding co-design strategy team
- EYFS
- VI Form
- Attendance
- Behaviour & Relational work
- Personal Development
- Teaching and Learning
- SEND
- Subject and phase co-design teams (Primary and secondary)
Our Co-design teams are set up to ensure that colleagues from schools across the Trust can develop and share best practice.
Identifying Support and Priorities
From school-improvement plans and through line-management support we identify strengths, priorities and areas of risk that schools want support with. The trust Executive Leadership Team will identify additional resource allocation, as and if required, including the deployment of:
- Additional external SIP support (we have external School Improvement Partners with proven track records who support our QA)
- Executive School Improvement Leader support, Primary executive support and/or Director of Education support
- Trust leads (subject or strategic areas such as trust lead for SEND) support from within the trust (or from outside the trust if required)
- Deployment of other trust senior leader support (including secondment)
- Additional support and resource as required
Trust Leads (Central Expert Leaders)
We have a team of experts- many who work within schools as a substantive role but have 1-2 days a week working across the trust to support their area of focus/support all schools.
